Prevention: Fire Safety
Candle Information
There has been an increasing trend to have candles in the home and these have become a main reason for house fires. There is also the risk that the flames will attract a child and they may be burned or accidentally knock the candle over, starting a fire. It is therefore advisable not to light candles when you have children in your care. For your own safety:
- Never leave candles unattended
- Use a metal holder
- Do not place candles on plastic surfaces or leave near soft furnishings
